Get the Look: Sanaa Lathan at ‘Nappily Ever After’ Premiere

Sanaa Lathan stars in Nappily Ever After, the saga of a black woman coming to terms with her womanhood, self-esteem and the attachment of the two to her (relaxed) hair. The scene of Lathan shaving her head bald during a meltdown is riveting, although and the emotional tug it has on black women is probably a bit late considering the “big chop” movement associated with accepting accepting one’s natural hair is not breaking news. Nonetheless, the movie is still cause for conversation, as is Lathan’s hair since her big chop during the filming of the movie.
